The Great Museum Debate 2007
In May 2007, Kids in Museums organised the first Kids in Museums/National Museums Liverpool debate - The Great Museum Debate - What are museums for?
A capacity crowd sat cafe-style around small tables and listened to the distinguished and committed panel put their very varied points of view.
On the panel was David Fleming, Director of National Museums Liverpool; David Barrie, Director of the Art Fund; Dea Birkett, Director of Kids in Museums; and commentator James Delingpole. Broadcaster Gillian Reynolds chaired the debate. The lively, enthusiastic audience soon led the discussion, adding their insights as both visitors and museum professionals.

The second Kids in Museums/National Museums Liverpool debate will be held in June 2008.
